Heartland Psychotherapy takes a collaborative relational approach to therapy, prioritizing depth, insight, and the needs of both body and mind. Therapy is transformative when it is rooted in genuine connection and an understanding of how societal structures shape and impact us throughout our lifetime.
We take a relational approach to our work in therapy with you. This style of therapy is particularly helpful for developing lasting psychological change and increasing feelings of safety within ourselves. Our clinicians recognize that the human experience is complex and that everyone experiences difficulty and pain in their life. Together with your therapist, you will look at patterns that might no longer be serving you and find new ways to move through life. This exploration, along with the therapy relationship itself, encourages self-acceptance and leads to increased wellness and recovery from traumas.
We are deeply committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in our practice. Our approach is rooted in respect for all identities, and we strive to affirm and celebrate people of all genders, sexualities, relationship structures, races, and cultures. We recognize that the world around us, including political and social systems, shapes our experiences and well-being and needs to be a part of the therapy conversation. We hope to support each person with compassion and understanding, honoring you as an individual and the communities you are a part of.
Our therapists treat all major mental health conditions and are particularly committed to working with individuals who have experienced relational challenges/trauma, as well as individuals impacted by substance use (personally or relationally) and dissociation.
